…Because feeling safe changes everything…
Hello, I’m Gemma.
I am a registered midwife with 14 years’ experience across maternity care and senior roles focused on quality, safety and improving families’ experiences. I currently work as Senior Clinical Quality and Safety Manager (Midwifery) for the North East and North Cumbria Local Maternity and Neonatal System.
Safe Hands was created to offer something that busy services cannot always provide: time, continuity and genuinely personal support. My care is compassionate, honest and grounded in current evidence, with space for you to ask questions, understand your options and make decisions that feel right for you and your family.
I offer independent antenatal and postnatal support, birth preparation, feeding support and additional reassurance through pregnancy and early parenthood. I have particular experience supporting families following loss, during pregnancy after loss and through complex or anxious maternity journeys.
If you are looking for calm, experienced and unhurried support, I would be delighted to hear from you.
